The Sony Ericsson X10 is the long awaited touchscreen Android based smartphone seen by many as the direct rival to the current mobile phones market leader the Apple iPhone. It’s got a great blend of power and ease of use highlighted by a 10 inch screen, an 8 megapixel camera, HSPA , GPS, 1GB memory plus and the very necessary long life battery.
Sony Ericsson were kind of slow to enter the touchscreen market, but appear to have got it very right with this product knocking The HTC Desire of its perch as the top Android product. What Sony Ericsson have very cleverly done is to tweak the standard Android OS with their own user interface gathering together all your sms, emails, Facebook, Twitter, and even photos for any one of your contacts so there’s no need to open any apps to find out what going on in your social networks more like a PC, but geared to perfectly for cellphones.
As you would expect from the company that first brought the Walkman it has an outstanding music player, with a 3.5mm audio jack so you can plug in your own stereo headphones unlike apple boo.. Plus extra features like the integrated with Google Maps GPS , Wi-Fi and Bluetooth all ensure that this phone punches well above its weight.
What’s missing ? Well there is no FM radio or video calling but other than that it’s a quality product.
